Whatever you'd like to do, see, taste, or try is only minutes from this hotel on the edge of Downtown San Diego.The quaint bistros, shops and art galleries of Little Italy are right outside our doors.
A two-minute cab or trolley ride gets you to Petco Park and the vibrant Gaslamp nightlife district, Old Town San Diego, the museums of Balboa Park, and Qualcomm Stadium. As a truly unique choice among affordable hotels in San Diego the Porto Vista features impeccable service in a dynamic central location. Shuttle service is provided to nearby locations including Airport, Cruise Terminal, Convention Center, Amtrak, Gaslamp Quarter/Horton Plaza. We stayed in the Cabrillo Suite when we were there recently. The suite is large with good views of the area but it was lacking in a few amenities. There were not enough lamps in either the living room or the bedroom. There was only one floor lamp in the living room except a horrible wall light above the coffee area.

In the bathroom, there were no shelves to hold necessary bathroom items such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, razors, etc. They have to be kept on a bedroom table very inconvenient to the bathroom. The breakfasts are included in the price if you book through the hotel. The breakfasts, however, have to be on the 'menu' or you have to pay for them. The Monday breakfast for example is waffles. If you don't want waffles, you are out of luck unless you want to pay for something else. Also you can have coffee or juice - but not both.
Parking is by valet only and very expensive. We UBER to and from the hotel rather than rent a car.
